The Asian Conference on Literature (LibrAsia) is now in its eighth year and is held annually alongside The Asian Conference on Arts & Humanities (ACAH). Since 2009 more than 2,500 delegates have attended this annual interdisciplinary event, which takes place in Japan in the spring.
In 2016, LibrAsia/ACAH attracted 162 attendees representing 33 countries – a truly international event. This diversity serves as an wonderful comparative and contrastive resource.
The majority of LibrAsia/ACAH conference attendees are university faculty, with 54% holding an academic post. At 26% of the total registered delegates, postgraduate and doctoral students make up the next largest group of attendees. The remaining attendees come from the business sector (2%) and the public sector (3%), with 1% registered as "independent" and 14% registered as "other".
